Description
While very small (less than 1/4 inch in length), jumping spiders such as this are ferocious hunters, pouncing on prey from distances several times there own length. This fellow was cooperative enough to let me take several shots before running for cover.Thanks for viewing. C/C welcome.

Reminds me of a camp 1950's SciFi movie called the Green Slime Are Coming - they looked just like this (apart from the slime - and the green bits).
A stunning image..

@trevorm & Umanth:
Camera: Sony DSC F717 with Raynox DCR-250 Super Macro Lens
Shutter: 1/500
Aperture: f/5
Focal Length: 48mm
ISO: 100
Metering Mode: Pattern
Exposure Compensation: 0
I didn't use a tripod here; instead, I held my camera in one hand and my external flash in the other. The subject was approximately 5 inches away from my lens.

Great photo, excellent use of DOF, I like this kind of macro that let you show great details, the ones on this pic are really impresive.
Keep shooting.

The DOF is as good as can be expected at this short distance. Clean and sharp.
